THANK YOU, KEY BISCAYNE!

KBPFOn behalf of the Festival’s Executive Board and Committee, it is great to launch the 4th Season ‘21/’22.

First and foremost, I’d like to thank the Village of Key Biscayne, particularly the Village Council, Village Manager, and the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces, for investing in the festival since its inception, but also for understanding the Festival’s mission in elevating the arts and culture on the island. We desire to promote the island as the #KeyofArts showcasing Key Biscayne as a cultural beacon in South Florida while educating the island’s youth and entertaining the music enthusiasts locally and beyond.

We’d also like to thank our friends and fellow residents, who constantly inquire about the Festival’s programming. It’s amazing how the festival has become a piece of the cultural fabric that makes up the island’s character.

So many things have occurred in the years since our first season in 2018-2019. More than 2000 in-person attendees have participated in our events throughout the past three seasons, while thousands viewed the concerts online. We’ve presented artists from 14 nationalities and have had diplomatic representatives and members of the various Chambers of Commerce and Cultural Centers throughout the region.

Last season we pivoted our live programming to an online platform, helping us easily reach our residents and even more music lovers. The exclusive for Key Biscayne (#TheKeyOfArts) were streamed from Italy broadcasting to the world. Before the start of each concert and in between musical performances, the KBPF displayed stunning images of our beloved island paradise for the world to see.

A highlight of the ‘20-‘21 season was December’s Holiday Pop Piano Concert, in collaboration with Sony Music Latin and performed by island resident pianist Arthur Hanlon. We are happy to say that since posting the concert video on social media, we have surpassed 2.5 million views. A video intro to the concert highlights Key Biscayne, raising the island’s profile as the #TheKeyofArts.

For the 4th Season, we hope to reach our goal to present 3 MAIN PROGRAMS for a TOTAL OF 21 EVENTS.

Program 1: 5 concerts with top artists in collaboration with internationally- renowned institutions like the Miami International Piano Festival. Program 2: A Holiday Season Concert at the Monaco Pool in December Program 3: “Keys on the Key” A free, 3-day musical extravaganza in April w/ 5 pianos performing simultaneously across different locations in the heart of Key Biscayne for a total of 15 individual events throughout the weekend.

This special event will include a diverse set of musicians based in Miami Dade County. Pianists will perform a variety of styles such as Classical, Pop, New Age, and Jazz. Additionally, the county recognized our “Keys on the Key” event with a grant for its uniqueness.

We welcome your support and collaboration, either as donors or as sponsors. If interested, there’s more information on how to donate by clicking on the “DONATE” button. Your support enhances the quality and quantity of the events for this and the following seasons, generating greater appeal to the off-Key visitors. Quality and Excellence IS, have been, AND WILL ALWAYS BE our TOP priority.

yours,
