THANK YOU, KEY BISCAYNE!

Dear friends,

KBPFWe are inspired and equally thrilled to finally return with an “in-person” event since the pandemic disrupted our original programming scheduled for the 2020/2021 concert season. The Key Biscayne Piano Festival was the first organization to cease all public activities on Key Biscayne during the lockdown, and we are delighted to be the first one to restart cultural activities on the island. A Musical Bouquet for Key Biscayne on the Village Green will be the last concert of the season and surely a must-see event for the year.

We are eternally grateful to all the Village of Key Biscayne administration and public safety officials for the exhausting job of protecting the island residents, and in particular, the seniors on the Key.

The Piano Festival would also like to recognize the Key Biscayne Community Foundation for their tireless effort in ensuring island residents were fully supported during such a difficult year by offering personal protection equipment and volunteer services to the island’s senior population, establishing a trustworthy COVID testing site when it was most needed, and facilitating vaccine appointments for the most vulnerable residents, among other things.

Even though the Piano Festival was restricted in hosting in-person concerts during this ‘20-‘21 Season, we pivoted our live programming to an online platform. Exclusive concerts for Key Biscayne #TheKeyOfArts were streamed free from Italy. Before the start of each concert, and in between musical performances, we displayed stunning images of our beloved island for the world to see. Internationally acclaimed artists performed everything from Baroque to Romantic to Movie Soundtracks. Alongside the main piano performer, we hosted harmoniously blending instruments from many nationalities, and musical genres to create energizing productions celebrating diversity.

A highlight of the ‘20-‘21 season was December’s Christmas Pop Piano Concert, in collaboration with Sony Music Latin and performed by island resident and pianist, Arthur Hanlon. We are happy to say that since posting the concert video on social media we have surpassed 2.5 million views. As with every concert, we promoted Key Biscayne by playing a short video clip highlighting the best the island has to offer.

We are currently working on an exciting ‘21-‘22 season, intended to continue to showcase Key Biscayne as a cultural beacon in South Florida, while also educating the island youth, and entertaining the piano/music/art enthusiasts on the Key and beyond. With every performance and concert season, we earn slightly more international acclaim for producing events with a high degree of quality.

SAVE THE DATE: Friday, May 7th, 2021, at 7:00 PM. On theKey Biscayne’s Village Green, we will be presenting a “Musical Bouquet for Key Biscayne,” a picnic concert for Key Biscayne residents and friends, with an inaugural performance by the newly created, Miami Ocean Orchestra ( www.MiamiOceanOrchestra.com ).

We sincerely hope you join us for this magnificent event celebrating Spring, life and the island’s resiliency. Thank you for allowing us to help shepherd the island’s return to cultural programming.
